I am currently reading The Ultimate Coach by Steve Hardison. This book has changed my life.

Can You Change Your State Of Being?

I’m currently reading “The Ultimate Coach”, written by Amy Hardison and Alan D. Thompson, written about Steve Hardison.  My copywriting mentor Nikhil Rughani recommended this book.  He said it changed his life.

I’m all for a book, or anything, that will change my life.  But I was warned….this isn’t a coaching book, or a self-help book. In fact, it is not even a biography about Steve.

Currently I am up to Chapter 12, and I am finally starting to understand what’s going on here.  At least, I feel as though I am ‘getting’ it.

This book may elicit different thoughts or memories for each reader.  So, I can only speak of my journey with the words on these pages.

What I see before me is the possibility for me to break away from the confines of this well-worn path that is my life so far.  This path represents all that is familiar and predictable within my nature, my DNA.  My thoughts, responses, beliefs, actions and reactions have been so trodden into my being that I am, in fact, not be-ing my true self at all.

The significance of venturing off this well-worn path is not lost on me.  As I turn each page I begin to long for the ‘me’ that is suppressed and out of sight, possibly hiding just around the corner and off this familiar beaten track.

The Ultimate Coach - a book about the life of Steve Hardison

I’m only a quarter of the way through the book. But already I see that it is me who is in my own way.  Sure, it’s easy to blame parents, partners, or life in general.  But those are excuses that have become so ingrained that I have been mixing them up with actually be-ing me.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that by the end of the book I will confidently announce “Yes! You can change your state of being.”  I want to change my auto-generated thoughts and responses because, quite frankly, they’re holding me back.  Ninety pages in and I can see the edges of the band-aid, covering up my personal breakthrough, starting to peel away.

I’m excited!

Through Steve’s story I am beginning to see that I am so much more than my story, and capable of extraordinary things.   This book is about me, and you.

To your success

P.S. Have you read this book? I would love to know your thoughts and experiences. Have you altered your reality and expanded your state of being?

I will report back once I finish reading.
